ERGC election update
ERGC members... after much debate and consideration, the ERGC board of directors has voted to temporarily postpone the 2017/2018 election for board of director positions.
An email was sent to the majority of ERGC members by a candidate about ERGC's recent tax status change from a 501(c)7 to a 501(c)4 organization. This email contained a considerable amount of accusations and negativity directed towards current ERGC board members, some of which are running for re-election. Additionally, the email attempted to persuade the membership to vote for specific candidates. This email directly violated the established election procedures in our Policies and Procedures manual. The board of directors has decided that this email has severely impacted the ability to run a fair election.
In order to allow for a fair and impartial election to be conducted, the board has postponed the election for a period of no more than 90 days. On Thursday, May 11th at 6:00pm, the 501(c)4 board will hold a meeting with our CPA, Jeff Heddy, to answer any questions/concerns regarding the C7 transition to the C4 tax status. The 501(c)3 BOD will be invited to participate. Additionally, candidates running for election will be invited to participate as well. Membership of ERGC will be invited to attend. The location of this meeting is to be determined. Additional emails will be sent once the location is finalized.
After this meeting the election process will resume immediately, with better guidance to candidates on what is allowed and not allowed as part of campaigning. Ballots will be sent out for electronic and paper voting the following weekend. Voting will continue through the first weekend of June. The actual election will be held during the June ERGC combined meeting on Thursday, June 8th.
Please know that the board does not take this decision lightly and many board members decided to support this action with reservations. However, we as a board feel that it is important for the membership to be completely informed with facts going into the election. It's more important to conduct a fair election than hastily rush an election with members potentially skewed by misinformation.

Intermittent Range Closures
ERGC members, please be advised that we are currently doing range renovations on various ranges at different times through the week. These renovations sometimes cause the closure of a range, but the closures are typically for a short duration. If anyone has questions regarding range availability, please call the on-duty range safety office at 1-850-356-6534. Thanks for your patience during our construction. We all know that the end result is going to be awesome and well worth the minor inconveniences along the way.
